  • Manhattan Public Schools Foundation

The Manhattan Public Schools Foundation presents three scholarships each May to graduating Manhattan High School Seniors for their continuing education. Each year’s scholarships of $1000 each can be used for many different studies including music, engineering, nursing, mathematics, teaching, physical sciences and numerous other accredited studies. Grants are also made available for Manhattan Public School Teachers who apply for funding for educational projects that enhance student learning.

  • Darcy Dengel Memorial Scholarship for Nursing

The Darcy Lynn Dengel Memorial Scholarship was established to honor Darcy Dengel, a compassionate nurse and volunteer who died in a plane crash in 2007. Aimed at graduates of Manhattan Public High School with aspirations in nursing, the scholarship celebrates Darcy's lifelong dedication to helping others and her active involvement in her hometown of Manhattan. This initiative reflects her family's desire to give back to the community that supported them, perpetuating Darcy's legacy of care and service.

  • Patrick M. and Karlene K. Hughes Family Trust Scholarship

Lieutenant General Patrick Hughs and his wife, Karlene, have established a scholarship through Manhattan High School to support young individuals from Manhattan aiming for careers in military, law enforcement, and nursing. Recognizing the obstacles in achieving personal ambitions, the Hughes, both Montana natives with deep roots in the Gallatin Valley, seek to foster the next generation's success. Pat, a Manhattan schools alumnus, and Karlene, a graduate of Bozeman Senior High School, have been married for over six decades and are deeply invested in their community's future.

  • Jim Oriet Memorial Scholarship

The Jim Oriet Memorial Scholarship was established in 2022. It is given in memory of Jim Oriet, a lifelong teacher who taught from the Fall of 1984, until Spring of 2019. We wish to honor and preserve Jim’s spirit and passion for teaching and athletics.
